Udupi, Aug 15: Minister Sunil Kumar said it is impossible to tolerate protests against Savarkar’s poster as he has served as a freedom fighter.
The minister said a visit to Andaman is a testimony to Savarkar’s contribution to India's struggle to attain independence. "It is impossible to tolerate any criticism that is directed towards Savarkar as it is equivalent to criticising the Indian freedom struggle," he said.
Minister Sunil Kumar said Savarkar is a true patriot of the country which has been opposed by PFI activists adding that it is not possible to remove Savarkar’s portrait.
The minister came down heavily on the comment made comparing Savarkar to Tipu Sultan terming it as a systematic conspiracy to spread unrest by PFI activists.
He said the government will not tolerate PFI's behaviour and will keep it under control with the police department and home department warning the PFI activists of stern action.
The minister said the opposition to Savarkar’s portrait is a pre-determined act of the PFI.
