New Delhi: 28th National Kannada Sammelan Concludes

New Delhi, Apr 12: The 28th National Kannada Sammelan that was held under the chairmanship of Karnataka Sanskrit University chancellor Professor Mallepuram G Venkatesh, concluded on Sunday April 10. 

"Kannada Sammelans held in some part of Karnataka with a gathering of people from some five districts cannot be termed a National Sammelan.  However, the 28th Kannada Sammelan that was held in the nation’s capital was indeed a national one since Kannadigas’ from across India participated in it,” said Professor Mallepuram G Venkatesh.



Professor Venkatesh appreciated the efforts of Ba Samaga in organizing the National Sammelan in the nation’s capital.

S K Ramesh, Siddanna G, Gurumurti Pendakur, Ashok R Hukkeri, Gopalakrishna Nayari, B Nagabhushan, N Timmappa, N C Ramachandra, P Narayan Bhat, and Satyanarayan Rao were felicitated during the programme.

 

Medical litterateur Dr Vasundara Bhupati, litterateur Dr Bidari Chandrabhaga, education expert Mira Mukund, Bharatanatyam artiste Anupama Raghavendra, cultural artiste Savita Inamdar, women’s activist Parvati Pendakoor, Banker Hema N Bhat, and teacher Arpana A Hukkeri were also felicitated on the same occasion.
