Mangaluru, Aug 16: The Kankanady police have arrested five persons in connection with a cow theft.
Ashwin, a resident of Kanekaria, Bajal has been rearing cows and calves. He had tied them in his shed at 6 PM on July 20, 2022. He heard the cow’s mooing at about 3.30 AM.
When Ashwin and his family members came out and checked the shed, they saw a cow standing outside its shelter and a big brown cow was missing. They did not find the cow even after searching around. The cattle seemed to be stolen by miscreants. A case in this connection was registered in the police station under registration No. 82/2022 IPC sections 457 and 380.
Police have arrested the following acccused in this connection.
Mohammed Ashfaq(22), a resident of Kottari Gudde, Gurunagara and Azharuddin (31) of Addoor, Gurupura; Suhail(19) of Bajal Padpu, Jalligudde; Mohammed Afrid (25) of Pakkaladka and Shahid (19) of Kattapuni, Bajal.
Police have confiscated a Maruti car used for the theft, knife and ropes from the suspects. Already there are cases against Azharuddin and Shaid in Kankanady and Bajpe police stations.
