Sullia, Aug 17: Krishna Kumar (44) of Mysuru has embarked on a pilgrimage with his mother Choodaratnamma (72), on an old scooter.
The mother and son arrived at Kukke Subramanya on Tuesday August 16.
Krishna Kumar, who is unmarried, was employed in a company a few years back. He quit his job and was leading a life akin to a sage.
"My mother had been confined to living her life within the four walls of our house for the past 60 years. In the evening of her life, I thought of fulfilling her wishes by taking her on a pilgrimage on a scooter that my father had bought for me 20 years ago. I regard this scooter as my father and I can say that the three of us are on a journey together," he said.
The mother and son began their journey from Mysuru in 2018 and have toured most parts of the country including the neighbouring countries such as Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar.
However in 2020, due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, they had to return to Mysuru.
Now, they are back on a pilgrimage and have visited Dharmasthala. They are on the way to Puttur and then to Vittal on a visit to the friends of Krishna Kumar's mother.
