Kasargod, Aug 18: The cyber police have arrested a fraudster who took Rs 8 lacs from a girl promising to marry her and then cheated her.

Surathkal resident Bonoy alias Sanath Shetty is the youth arrested in this connection. He started a matrimonial website named Sangam.com, created his fake profile stating that he is a doctor and cheated the girl of Rs 8 lacs.

Police personnel who were watching his social media networks for several months found that he was changing his residences from Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Police followed his locations and obtained details about him.

He was arrested from his residence in Surathkal on Thursday, August 18 morning.

Police are also investigating if he has cheated anybody else.

In this era of social media evil minded people exists and they cheat women for money I feel people should be extremely careful in this era where social media is used for carious fraudulent activities I think time we must be careful I feel sad Adequate compensation must be given to the girl who was cheated in this manner

Sad. People are so devil now a days humanity has no value at all. Everyone need money money money but nobody want to work and make thier living. All gangs, groups, religious intolerance and list goes on. If this trend continues soon there will be major problems in the civil society.. it’s very sad to read such news where honest people are taken for ride

Cheaters are many in these days,but people who believe in them ,giving lacs of rupees to them without varifying things are simply fools.Kindly varify first specially marriage advt.and dont give money in big amount first then have to doubt in this.Always money should be taken after a successful aligation.not first .
