Mangalore, Apr 13: The members of Janata Dal (Secular) condemned the constant attacks on minorities by Bajrang Dal and Sangh Parivar activists and expressed displeasure towards the BJP government for not taking any measures to curtail the unlawful act.

The Somashekar Commission report on church attacks was backed by the BJP government which further prompted the Bajrang Dal members to continue their disgraceful acts and harass the Christians, they alleged.

Addressing a press meet here JD(S) member M G Hegde said that it is now become habitual for the Bajrang Dal activists to target all the Christians for any disruptive activities. He said that if they think Christians are trying to convert the orphan children let them take them and provide shelter to them in their homes. How the children who are struggling for a piece of bread on a daily basis can have any idea about conversion or any religion, he questioned.

He sarcastically remarked whether the district police have given any sub-contract to Dal activists. He suggested that if at all there is any incident of conversion or if they really feel someone is trying to convert let them expose the person individually by providing the required proof to the police. It is not right to generalize a category of people if one or two is responsible for the act, he stressed.

Hedge added that the Hindu, Muslim students seek education in Christian institutes and vice versa. Hence these kinds of acts should not be encouraged or supported by anyone. He informed that if at all this is continued, JD(S) will form a youth organization to fight against it.

When a group of people unlawfully obstruct law abiding citizens, it is the duty of the police to arrest them and take action against them. Why are the BD goons let to roam free in the city? Where are the city fathers? What is the DC, Mayor and SP doing? Are they not in charge of the law and order in the city or have they outsourced it?

Can someone please clarify who is BD and what their job? They run after pick ups and catch cattle and even attack and kill the drivers, attack women, attack minorities, attack orphanages, attack places of worship etc. Who is directing them, who is paying them? How come even the police force is under their command? There is an old saying which goes like this, "Vinasha kale vipareetha budhdhi" The extremist, anti social Bajrangdal and their activists will see their end very soon.

Mangalore, one of the highly educated city, now filled with corruption. Politics is the mother of all these corruption. People of Mangalore, I think this political game of hide and seek never ends without the strong initiative. Many incidents of corruption happening around mangalore with this type of polished talks.

My humble request to all the people who support anti-corruption, don't be carried away with fake sympathy and promises of political parties. Think wisely, see which party is talking, who all are involved, what is their intention, what is the time for their intenvention. Discuss these issues for yourself and in groups, study the history of these people, unite together for a good cause and show the difference of action in future.

JD(S) leaders should form a youth wing to counter attack the attrocities of Bajrang Dal and other communal outfits of Sangh Pariwar. Many youngsters irrespective of caste and creed will join them and put a stop to VHP/Bajrangi activists.

Also note that Congress has been silent on this issue for now. Only JD-S has been blasting the right wing nazi groups like bajrang dal. I hope God gives all of them some sense like Mr Mahendra Kumar who later repented and is now in JD-S.

Very well said. Actually conversion is done by Brahmins and GSB's on lower caste hindus to do their dirty, malicious work for them, by tempting them with money.

Nothing different here than from DMK party in T. Nadu, which was caught paying money and liquor for the public to vote for them in current elections! Same principles followed by upper caste hindus on lower caste.
    Very well said.

STALIN MISQUITH, Bahrain it's your thinking that muslims and christians are not safe in India. You seem to be worried more about punishing those saffron terrorists sitting in bahrain, but to be frank actual terrorist are safe in our country now and are enjoying the hospitality which our central UPA govt is giving to them.

MJ Hegde bit late in condemning the atrocities against minorities and their institutions by Sanghparivar. However all non BJP party's outbursts remains in paper only.I fail to understand why central govt is mum towards sanghaparivar's anti social -national activities which makes difficult for minority communities for quite long time in and around Mangalore.

As Mr.M.G.Hegde said, will the VHP and Bajrang Dal activists provide free education and shelter for the
poor children? This is a challenge to VHP,Bajrangi and all other communal groups of Sangh Pariwar.
Comeon Bajrangis take initiative and start some orphanages and provide shelter for those little children instead of harrasssing those religious sisters. Will the VHP/Bajrangi leaders come forward to accept the challenge???
