Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 22: Rain started lashing again in most parts of coastal district from the night of Saturday after a lull of many days.
On Sunday August 21, moderate rain was experienced in coastal districts. Though the clouds were dark, the rain was not heavy. Mangaluru, Puttur, Sullia and Beltangady received moderate rain. Bantwal taluk received good rains.

In the district of Udupi, it rained with regular intervals on Saturday and Sunday. Many parts of Kundapur and Karkala received good rains. Manipal, Malpe and Udupi city area cloudy weather prevailed with sudden rains every now and then. In the evening city area received good rain.
According to the weather forecast rain will intensify in the coming three or four days in coastal district. Yellow alert is declared in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts on August 22, 24 and 25. Kodagu and Chikkamagaluru districts are also given yellow alert.
Possibility of heavy winds in sea is there from August 23 to 25. The velocity of air would be from 40 to 50 km per hour. Fishermen of Karnataka and Kerala are advised to be alert.
