Mangalore: Multi-faceted Personality, Sandhya Shevgoor, No More

Mangalore, Apr 14: Sandhya Ramadas Shevgoor (53), renowned Konkani writer, who also was blessed with a number of other talents, breathed her last at her residence at Car Street here on Wednesday April 13, due to illness.

She is survived by Shevgoor Ramadas Kamath, a well-known painter, a son, and a daughter.

Sandhya, who wrote a number of works in Konkani, also used to function as resource person in personality development camps. She had received a number of awards and honours for her work.

    Sorry to hear the sad demise of Sandhya Shevgoor. Konkani world lost a rare personality. May God Almighty give enough strength to Ramadas and all her family members and loved ones enough strength to bear this loss. May her soul rest in peace.

    She had this flair of Story Telling. Eyes of participants in a workshop were moist when she narrated the Story written by Shenoy Goembab "mhaji ba Khoin Gelli?". It was almost an year ago.
    When I heard the sad news, I felt same today.
    Mother Konkani lost her beloved daughter.
