UP gangster Ateeq Ahmad's son surrenders in Lucknow


Lucknow, Aug 23 (IANS): Umar Ahmad, son of jailed mafia don Ateeq Ahmad, surrendered in the CBI court on Tuesday.

He carried a reward of Rs two lakhs on his head and had cases related to extortion registered against him.

Ateeq's younger son Ali had surrendered in a Prayagraj court last month. He carried a reward of Rs 50,000.

Presently lodged in Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad, Ateeq Ahmad has been facing a massive crackdown by the Yogi Adityanath government and his ill-gotten wealth and property, running into crores of rupees, has been seized by the government.
