Mangaluru, Aug 25: Former minister B Ramanath Rai on Thursday, August 25 said, " Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had tremendously contributed to the development of the district."

Speaking at a press meet here, he said, “efforts are on to insult Nehru's family. There is no photograph of Nehru in the government advertisements. This is really a painful thing for the patriots. The present government is insulting the freedom fighters. It is not fair to insult the freedom fighters.”

Ramanath Rai also slammed the BJP-led state government during the occasion. He said the government should understand the history before speaking. “Read history books but do not read the books written by Chakaravarthi Sulibele. To know whether Savarkar was a freedom fighter one should read history,” he said.

    Baby Anna.. We all know you have done great work in your constituency during your tenure .. But some jealous people did not like you winning votes of hindus and Muslims in your area . Anyways now the congress is in doldrums ..your own leadership is in deep trouble .Better to form a new party or switch sides.

    Not just insult to Nehru's and Freedom Fighters, But Efforts are being continuously made to negate the History, Destroy the Opposition completely to breakdown the largest Democracy to lead a Dictatorship kind of ruling!!! What will you do is their open challenge!!! Mark my words!!! Jai Hind!!!

    Akil Udipi you are right.People who do things which is not right with all means ,let them do.cant help.One previously said dont touch this dirt,but other one said ,what will you do when I dip in and eat ?Soare things .To small children we can say.Whatever it is .history cant be changed .It is written and experienced.Those times are gone ,new people new thinking and working .Let them experience.Their work also will noone praise or mention .In tulu they say "kaalak thakka kola kattodu"
