Bangalore: State Not for CBI Probe into Illegal Mining

Bangalore, Apr 16 (PTI) Sticking to its stand, the BJP government in Karnataka today asserted that it would not entrust the probe into the illegal mining issue to CBI, but said a report would be submitted to the Supreme Court on the issues raised by a committee appointed by the apex court.

A day after the Central Empowered Committee submitted its interim report to the Supreme Court pointing out largescale illegal mining in iron-ore rich Bellary district in collusion with officials and politicians, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa held an emergent meeting of top officials here.

The meeting, attended by Chief Secretary S V Ranganath, officials from Mines and Geology Department and Public Works Minister C M Udasi, discussed the CEC report which pointed out that 304.91 lakh tonnes of iron ore had been exported from Karnataka without permits between 2003-04 and 2009-10.

Yeddy is a religious fellow (he visits temples regularly) and the Gods are letting him make tons of money through corruption. He has all the Gods on his side (though he may not have Eshwarappa and other BJP party members on his side), who overlook his corrupt practices. He is a lucky fellow, as he also has the mining God (but not the "mining lords" who are the Reddy brothers) on his side.

Yeddy does no want a CBI Probe as he wants to save Reddy Bros. If he saves them his CHAIR also is saved. Yeddy is depended on Reddy Bros for his survival. If he goes to even touch Reddy Bros, CM Yeddy's CHAIR is gone.

@ JRAO for your information CBI has no suo moto power to probe illeagal mining or state subject unless state request for probe.

Secondly CBI enquiry can be possible only when HC/SC directs to probe.

Boss can I apply dancing to the tune of Central govt also during time of NDA Govt?

CBI has no political intention as said by you but BJP govt will fall or may be, by it's own wieghts and scandals of corruptions frequently.

IF OUR HONORABLE CM IS 'Mr CLEAN',STRAIGHT,ACTED AS PER LAW OF LAND, THEN WHY HE IS SCARING FOR INVESTIGATION OF ANY AGENCY OF INDIA.WHY HIS SON IN LAW STAYING ALL THOSE CORRUPTION RELATED CASES IN THE HC ON FILMSY GROUND?YEDDY HAS NO WEAPON @ PRESENT AND COMING DAYS ARE TESTING TIME FOR STATE AND CENTRAL BJP LEADERSHIP.

CM is a total liar and corrupt, he proved that consistantly. If someone still has to support him, he should be a party to his ill-gotten wealth. BJP/RSS lost their moral superiority siding with these corrupt. I guess these kind of drama will continue for sometime, till supreme court gives its verdict. One has to wait till such time for cases in lower courts and high courts until all cases reaches SC.

What CBI was doing all these years.
CBI intention is not to probe mining but to bring down BJP Govt.
by deviding BJP Yeddi Vs Reddy groups. CBI has not investigated any crime successfully but dances to the tunes of Central Govt.

Yes, why should CBI probe illegal mining when we have number of retired & jobless Judges like Somashekara to dance to the tune of Ali baba ? Earlier leaders were involved in illegal mining and now, Karnataka people have elected (permitted) me to walk on the same road. Salute you Yeddy for your shamelessness and greed.

Yeddi presently is blaming his predecessors for granting licenses to mine-which were used to mine illegally as well.
But he cannot blame others always for his misdeeds of ommission & commision. It was during his tenure the illegality of mining was discovered by LokaAyukta & a report was submitted to him on which he didn't take any action for 2 & half years-answering there is no illegal mining in Karnatka for any queries-(repeatedly)-which means he is the beneficiary of his predecessors largesse as well.
If his predecessors were responisble & he is clean why he is avoiding CBI?
Yeddi-PLEASE stop blaming others for any troubles u face because of your misdeeds. We Are Fed up with all politicians-so don't always pass the buck.
