India will become developed country by 2047: PM Modi

Bhuj, Aug 28 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday pledged to make India a developed country by 2047.

The Prime Minister, who is on a day-long visit to Kutch, said: "After the devastating 2001 earthquake, I had assured to develop the district and in 2022, see how well it has developed. Today I am promising to make India a developed country by 2047 and will surely do it."

Earlier in the day, he dedicated 'Smriti Van' in Bhuj and 'Veer Balak Smarak' in Anjar, in memory of those who died in the massive earthquake. The two memorials, he said, will put Kutch on the world map like Japan's Hiroshima museum.

Prime Minister Modi said he was in Delhi when the earthquake struck but rushed to Gujarat the very next day.

Gujarat was the first state to introduce Disaster Management Act, which later inspired the rest of the nation, he stated.

This morning, he laid the foundation for new projects and dedicated them to the nation projects worth Rs 5,000 crore. The PM said that Sarhad Dairy was inaugurated when he was the chief minister of the state. Back then, its daily milk collection was 1,400 litres which has increased to 5 lakh litre a day. Milk producers are making Rs 800 crore by contributing milk in the dairy.

In the last 20 years, Kutch has got 45 new colleges, 1,000 new schools, 250 hospitals, and thousands of check dams. It has got the first earthquake resistant hospital in the country, Modi said.

He remembered all his old friends from Kutch who had contributed to its development.

I am not a supporter of any political party, but I'll only speak the truth to the best that I know : After independence in 1947 the Congress ruled with strong inclination towards socialism for 30 years. For those older you will remember the days of ration shops, and every day to day commodity was rationed. Very few people could afford a Gas Cylinder, a Phone, and a car. Besides the wait was forever. To get a gas cylinder it took a few months of waiting. To get a car you had to pay the money first, place the order and then come back many months later, the choice would be the Ambassador or Premier Padmini. To get a simple phone line it took years. To make a passport or get a driving license was a herculean task. However, things changed in the 80's where one could go to a store an purchase the commodity of his/her choice, and soon a wide choice of commodity was available. ONLY A FEW PEOPLE BENEFITED. However, things started to change in the 80'and for the next 35+ years all of the above became HISTORY and foreign travel became a thing of the past, which the younger generation knows very little about. However, since 2014 the policies of the government have been tailored to benefits only a small section of the people. This will result in many social issues and untold misery for ALL Indians. A new disturbing trend has been taking place for the past few years India is facing a huge brain drain, with many of our highly skilled and trained Indians leave India to settle mainly overseas. Even the very wealthy in the business community are leaving in droves of 5,000 to 8,000 are leaving. Hence, the big question is why are over 200,000 Indians giving up Indian citizenship and moving to the West????

Let alone foreign MNC investing in India even our domestic big companies are not investing in BJP ruled states and people are migrating to non-BJP sites to find jobs. On country level FDI is shrinking and no foreign investors are interested in investing under BJP ruled govt where thier investments are dwindling with rupee losing value internationally. If BJP rules till 2047 even china and Pakistan will dump India for being a disastrous venture.

Atleast is India a $5 tr economy now?. No Chance. Not Even Close. By 2047 Bangladesh will be Super Power while you make India Rs 5 tr economy if BJP still rules the country to dogs when Indian rupee trades at $ 1 = Rs 1 Trillion.
