Bengaluru: Strict action against police personnel violating traffic rules

Bengaluru, Aug 28: Police department has taken the matter of police personnel violating traffic rules as serious and warned of strict action against the offenders.

In recent days, it is common to see public posting pictures of policemen violating traffic rules blatantly. As this is harming the prestige and image of the police department, a circular has been sent to all departments, especially those who drive the vehicles not to violate any rules.

 A senior police officer said that this action has been taken after public started reporting blatant violation of traffic rules by police department personnel itself. Generally commoners click photos or make videos of such instances and post the same on social media. The image of the police department gets harmed due to such acts of irresponsible policemen.

“Police are a disciplined lot and they should uphold the rules. If they only violate the norms, the whole police department falls in the eyes of the public. So the personnel have been asked to follow all rules without fail and be a role model to commoners,” said a senior police officer.

    Bangalore traffic police has a image and prestige?? What a mockery. The dumbest of owls know that the Bangalore Traffic Police is the worst in the universe. The corrupt governments use this BTP to terrorise and collect 100s of crores of rupees each and every day from the citizens. At every signals one can find a group of traffic policemen chitchatting and wiling away their time and a little distance away another group of traffic policemen stopping motorists and extorting money from the public.

    Guys this is only a eyewash, the police sometimes penalise motorists without any proof. A few days back a retired teacher staying in Mangalore received a message on her mobile that she has violated traffic rules in Bangalore. The senior citizen was in shock when the vehicle owned has not gone out of DK, for this the senior citizen had to respond. Isn't it torture and harassment by the police, finally the senior citizen had to go to Bangalore to clarify thinks.

    Police themselves does not know the rules. They only know to check the expiry date of licence, insurance, pollution certificate thats it and seat belt. Rest nothing. They themselves use high beam ay night. What the hell
