Sullia, Aug 31: A boy, student of first grade college at Kodialbail of Kasaba village in the taluk, was beaten up by students belonging to a different community objecting to his friendship with a girl from Hindu community.
The incident took place on August 30 at around 10.30 AM at the first grade college at Kodialbail of Kasaba village.
Mohammed Sanif (19), a resident of Paichar house of Jalsoor village is the victim of this incident.
The accused in this incident are Deekshith (final BBA), Dhanush (final BBA), Prajwal (final BBA), Tanuj (final B Com), Akshay (Second B Com), Mokshith (Final B Com), Gautam (NMC college) and others.
According to the details of a complaint filed by victim Sanif, he is a first B Com student at the first grade college at Sullia Kasaba.
Pallavi, a girl student of the same college is his friend. But some students did not like the complainant speaking to Pallavi.
On August 30 morning, Deekshith and Dhanush, final year BBA students of the same college, called Sanif and said that they have to speak to him and took him to the college ground. As soon as they reached the playground of the college, other students Prajwal, Tanuj, Akshay, Mokshith, Gautam of NMC college and others pulled the collar of Sanif's shirt and started beating him with a wooden log asking him why he spoke to Pallavi. They pushed him to the ground, kicked and threatened him with life if he continued to speak to Pallavi.
Victim Sanif informed the matter to his family and was admitted to Sullia government hospital for treatment.
A case in this connection is registered in Sullia police station.
