Mangaluru, Sep 1: Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Thursday inspected Gold Finch city venue for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's event which is scheduled for September 2.
He was accompanied by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty and district in-charge minister Sunil Kumar.
Speaking to media persons, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will land at the Mangalore International Airport at 12:30 pm. Mangaluru Police have beefed up security measures for the prime minister’s visit. The DGP and ADGP will also be in the city for purpose of security. Close to 3000 police personnel have been deployed which includes ANF, CAR, DAR, RAF, KSRP to ensure that there are no lapses in security.
ADGP law and order Alok Kumar also instructed the Police about the policing required during the prime ministers visit.
He also said, “Everyone should be checked without being rude to them. If anyone found is found carrying objectionable materials for the event they will be stopped from entering the event. Make sure that in every block there will be police with a camera to keep an eye on the people who are suspicious and mischievous.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 8 projects worth over Rs 3,800 crore. There will be traffic diversion in 9 junctions of the city and 15 parking places have been identified for the visitors including VVIPs and guests during the PM's visit. More than a lac people are expected to gather for the event.
