Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 4: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, September 4, reported 22 new coronavirus cases while 14 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,767 out of which 104 are currently active. As many as 11 patients were discharged on September 4.

No deaths were reported on September 4. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,859.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.88 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi:

14 coronavirus cases were reported on September 4. The total active Covid cases are 60.

A total of 10,90,476 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,205 have received both doses and 2,48,992 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported 8 cases, while Kundapura registered 6.
