Beltangady, Sep 5: The death of a woman that occurred at Agarta of Kokkada village, which was considered as suspicious, is confirmed by medical examination that she was killed by her husband, who is arrested by Dharmasthala police.
The deceased is identified as Mohini (36). Her husband Ganesh (48), is arrested in this connection. Ganesh is a native of Shanivarasanthe. He married Mohini, resident of Kollamogru of Sullia eight years ago. The couple have a six-year-old son. The couple used to live at Agarta of Kokkada.
Ganesh was an alcoholic and used to do rubber tapping work. It is said that the couple used to fight frequently at home. On August 30 morning, Mohini was found dead at home and blood was oozing from her forehead. Though Ganesh did not confess to killing, after the post mortem it was confirmed that Mohini was murdered.
The six-year-old son of couple is handed over to child care centre as both families of Mohini and Ganesh did not come forward to accept him. Mohini had cut her relationship with her family after marriage. Even Ganesh’s family is not in touch with him.
Dharmasthala police are investigating further.
