Mangaluru, Sep 6: Former minister, president of KPCC social media and MLA Priyank Kharge said on Tuesday September 6 that the BJP government is not a double engine but a double dhokha (cheat) government.
Addressing media he said, “The BJP party workers had much expectations from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Mangaluru. The public was disappointed with the double engine government as the visit of PM Modi did not live up to their expectations. The party workers have realised that this is double dhokha government.
“There were demands from the public in the coastal belt during Modi’s visit which included addition of Tulu to the Eighth Schedule, announcement of Sri Narayana Guru study chair among others. It was a disappointing for public here.
“The BJP insult Sri Narayana Guru every time, be in the tableaux or text book row. Moreover, their party leaders do not give any explanation over the same.
“When Sri Narayana Guru supporters expressed their rage, minister Sunil Kumar wrote a letter. During elections, BJP seek vote by taking the name of Sri Narayana Guru, but during injustice they will not utter a single word.
“The BJP questions what Congress has done in 75 years. But BJP it is for everyone to see that BJP is selling everything what Congress built.
“The state BJP government has done nothing in the last three years. There is loss of infrastructure, crops and roads due to heavy rain. The BJP is crushing our state. Due to the faulty economic policies, the BJP is only interested in earning commission.
“The BJP leaders themselves have spoken against their own government. Law and order collapsed when ABVP tried to gherao the home minister’s residence.
“I felt Nalin Kumar Kateel is a powerful leader but there is no value for his words. The BJP workers do not respect him which was clear on display with the BJP workers’ campaign against him on the social media. The only solution to all problems to the BJP is politics of religion.
“The BJP leaders pass irresponsible statements, but the party has not issued any notice against them. Instead, they are speaking about Congress party’s discipline.
“I urge youths not to fall to the trap of BJP and RSS. Youths are being embroiled in needless religious narratives. None of the BJP leaders’ children are into the business of saving cattle or religion. They do not
drink gomutra. Their children are well settled and being educated overseas. They need only Dalits and poor for their politics over cattle and religion,” he said.
He also urged for a probe through a sitting judge in the PSI scam.
District Congress president Harish Kumar, AICC secretary Roji John, MLC Manjunath Bhandary, former MLC Ivan D Souza, former MLAs Ramanath Rai, Mohiudeen Bava and J R Lobo, Congress leaders Shalet Pinto, A C Vinayaraj, Madhu Bangarappa and others were present.
