Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 7: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, September 7, reported 15 new coronavirus cases while eight cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,811, out of which 102 are currently active. As many as 8 patients were discharged on September 7.

No deaths were reported on September 7. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,859.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.98 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Eight coronavirus cases were reported on September 7. The total active Covid cases are 54.

A total of 10,90,502 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,84,253 have received both doses and 2,53,407 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported four cases, while Kundapur added one case and Karkala registered three case.
