New-born found abondoned in bushes in Kerala's Alappuzha


Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 9 (IANS): A new-born girl was found abondoned by a group of migrant labourers in the bushes at Thumboly in Alappuzha district of Kerala on Friday.

The labourers, searching the area, for discarded things were startled to hear the cries of an infant and spotted it among the bushes.

They alerted the local people who in turn informed the police.

According to police, the new-born was then rushed to state-run Women and Child hospital in Alappuzha.

A probe was launched to locate the baby's mother and to find out how it landed there.

The list of new babies born in the hospitals in the vicinity is being checked.
