Sullia: Hindu worker alleges life threat by Praveen Nettaru murder accused's brother

Sullia, Sep 11: A tense situation prevailed on the night of Saturday for some time near Bellare police station as hundreds of Hindu workers gathered and demanded the arrest of the brother of the accused in Praveen Nettaru murder on the accusation of posing life threat to one of them.

It is accused that Safreed called a Hindu worker of Bellare, Prashanth Rai, abused him and threatened to kill him. Prashanth has filed a complaint in this regard with the Bellare police.

Accused Safreed is said to be an SDPI worker and younger brother of Shafique who is arrested in Hindu worker Praveen Kumar Nettaru murder case. His father Ibrahim used to work as a cleaner in the poultry farm of the deceased Praveen.

When Prashanth went to file a complaint with the Bellare police station, more than 100 Hindu workers gheraoed the police station and expressed anguish over the alleged matter. For some time the police had a tough time dealing with the situation.
