Mangaluru, Sep 12: The police have arrested four persons on charges of demolishing the CCTV and fence erected to prevent illegal sand mining at Someshwar sea shore.

The police have also confiscated the tipper used for the mining.

The accused are Madyar Sainagar resident Sooraj, Mudipu Madyanadka resident Iqbal, Talapady resident Akhil and Someshwar Mooda resident Prajwal.

The CCTV was installed on the directions from the deputy commissioner as there were repeated complaints from local people of sand mining near Someshwar Mooda beach.

Masked miscreants had demolished the CCTV late at night on September 10. Ullal taluk revenue officer had lodged a police complaint in this connection after two days.

Police sources said that the complaint was delayed by two days as there were holidays.

A case in this connection is registered at Ullal police station.

Crime percentage sharing is 50-50. Shobhakka, Kateelanna and other freedom fighters who brought independence to our country on 16th May 2014 are busy dining in each other's houses in jubilation.

" illegal sand mining at Someshwar sea shore." As far as i am given to understand that sea sand is not advisable (contains Salt) in residential or commercial construction. Then how these sand suppliers can cheat the contractors ?
