Bhushan's CD May Not be Tampered With, Says Delhi Police

New Delhi, April 21 (IANS) Delhi Police Thursday received "initial" reports from a forensic lab in Hyderabad suggesting that the CD allegedly containing conversations of Lokpal Bill co-chair Shanti Bhushan may not have been tampered with, police sources said.

Police had sent the CD for tests in the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Hyderabad. The controversial CD allegedly contains conversations of Shanti Bhushan with Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and former party leader Amar Singh.

"We have received the reports today (Thursday) and the test confirms that it is not tampered. However, these are only initial reports and nothing much can be said as of now," a source at the Delhi Police Special Cell told IANS.

Bhushan had last week registered a police complaint over a "forged CD" of his alleged conversations with Mulayam Singh and and Amar Singh.

Bhushan had lodged the complaint with Indraprastha Extension police station after being informed by the journalist of a national daily about an audio compact disc carrying recordings of his alleged conversations with the duo.

The former law minister asserted that it was "clearly a fabricated CD" as he had never spoken to the two politicians.
