Bengaluru, Sep 13: The State Congress party on Tuesday released a video depicting various corruption scandals of the BJP government in the State, including the 40% commission charge by state contractors, as also a rate card of corruption for various kinds of services.
The video and rate cards were released before the media at the State Congress office by KPCC Chief D K Shivakumar, Congress opposition leaders in the assembly and council Siddaramaiah and B K Hariprasad respectively, KPCC Working Presidents Ishwar Khandre, Saleem Ahmed and B Ramalinga Reddy as well as AICC Secretary Abhishek Dutt.
“The 40% Commission government is ruling BJP’s corruption,’’ said Shivakumar announcing that the party will launch a state-wide campaign on the issue.
The KPCC Chief and other Congress leaders pointed out that they have decided to focus media attention on the corruption issue as the ongoing legislature session for just 10 days may not be able to devote sufficient time, when another key issue of floods and rain havoc is being discussed.
“We will continue to raise the issue in different platforms including the legislature so that the entire country must be aware of the scams,” he said.
Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah pointed out that Bengaluru is known with various adjectives like garden city, IT Capital, Silicon city, Education Hub, Start-up Capital and now the BJP rule has made it the corruption capital.
The Congress leaders asked the ruling BJP leaders and the government to come out with facts and figures pertaining to the release of funds by the Centre to show how the so-called double engine has benefited Karnataka.
Shivakumar lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ignoring Karnataka when it is facing heavy and continuous rains and floods when he has the time to visit other states for inspection. The Centre has been miserly and not releasing funds to the State. The Prime Minister inaugurated the Bengaluru Suburban Rail project but nothing has been done except the public function and media advertisements, he said.
The Narendra Modi government has not implemented even a national project in the State. Out of the total of 600 pre-poll promises, over 90% have not been fulfilled.

The Congress leaders attacked the government for giving clean chits and good conduct certificates to former ministers K S Eshwarappa and Ramesh Jarkiholi even before the commencement of the probe. What is the sanctity and guarantee of fairness and justice in the investigations of such cases, they asked.
Shivakumar said the Congress party has launched a helpline, 8447704040, to help the people suffering due to corruption to contact or through email to an exclusive website, www.40percentsarkaara.com, and said the information and details will be kept secret.
