Puttur: Amarnath Shetty questions source of demonetised currency with minister

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Dec 1: "The fact that a hospital at Mangaluru refused to accept huge amount of demonetised currency notes tendered by a central minister gained lot of publicity. However, people have not been told how such a large sum of old currency notes came into the possession of the minister, and what he did with it thereafter," pointed out former state minister and JD(S) leader, K Amarnath Shetty.

He was speaking after inaugurating the meeting of party activists in the town on Wednesday November 30 at the inaugural of the JD(S) block committee office here.

"A minister in Modi's cabinet brought over ten lac rupees in the form of demonetised currency notes towards payment of hospital bill. How can such ministers be retained by the Prime Minister, who has declared war against black money, in his ministry? Is Modi right in keeping such ministers in his cabinet?" he wanted to know.

JD(S) district president, Muhammed Kunhi Vittal, presided over the meeting. He commented that the local MLA appears to have not realized as to which party she belongs. In spite of being a Congress MLA, mentally she is with the BJP, he felt.

JD(S) district election in-charge, Pravinchandra Jain, state leader, Kanyakumari, JD(S) youth unit district president, Akshit Suvarna, Iqbal Elimale, Ashraf Kallega, P A Raheem Bantwal and Chandra Idpady addressed the gathering. Presidents of different units of the party were present.

JDS local assembly constituency committee president, I C Kailas, welcomed. Ashraf Kotyady proposed vote of thanks. Abdul Rahiman Unik presented the programme. On this occasion, several people reportedly belonging to BJP and Congress joined the JD(S).

Very true Mr Amarnath Shetty. These are the questions opposition is asking our PM Modi and have a debate, but Modi is running away from it and even absent from the parliament. So, how honest and genuine this monetisation issue?????.

Keeping old currency in hand is not a crime till 31'st Dec, 2016. only circulation is restricted. Even you can it by affidavit by 31.3.2017 with valid cause of such holding. Until and unless you fail to explain the source of such currency it is not an offence.

What an honest man Amarnath Shetty is? People in and around DK/ Udupi know about his honesty. Why display his honesty by criticising another corrupt person? Is it like the kettle calling a pot black?
