Toronto: Feast of St Francis Xavier celebrated at St Martin de Porres, Scarborough.

Toronto, Dec 18: Konkan Organisation of Toronto, organised for the first timethe celebration of the Feast of St Francis Xavier, the Patron of Catholic Missions on December 7, 2019 at the parish of St Martin de Porres, Scarborough.

The celebration commenced with the Holy Mass concelebrated by Rev. Fr Manuel Antao and Rev. Fr Anthony Gonsalves. Fr Antao in the homily spoke about the miracles he has witnessed in life. He emphasized that faith in the Lord is essential in life, to be able to tide over all the troubles life may throw our way.

The Mass began with an introduction by Melwyn Sequeira, the Communications Co-ordinator. He spoke about the life of St Francis Xavier and introduced the celebrants to the gathering. Cheryl Menezes led the choir accompanied by Maskie Fernandes on the guitar and Connell Lobo on drums. The lectors were Joaquim Pinto and Carmin Castelino and the prayers of the faithful were led by Annette D’Souza.

Melwin Lobo, the president of the KOT thanked the gathering for their attendance and patronage to the feast mass. He assured the congregation that the organization aims to celebrate of the feast of St. Francis Xavier as an annual event in the coming years.

The celebration concluded with snacks in the Church hall, with mouth-watering sorpotel pao, which tickled the taste buds of one and all! Santa Claus made his entry much to the excitement of the tiny tots and each little one was thrilled when Santa handed them a bag of goodies. Everyone joined in singing carols accompanied by Maskie Fernandes on the guitar.
