Mangaluru, Sep 28: The academic council of the Mangalore University has permitted the students to pursue two courses at the same time from the next academic year.

Members of the academic council of the Mangalore University which met under the chairmanship of vice-chancellor Prof P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya provided this information.

It may be recalled, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had approved simultaneous dual degree courses for students in India, allowing them to complete courses either at the same university or from different universities at the same time.

The UGC has now directed institutions offering higher education courses to offer formal and informal learning to students.
