Customs officials seize gold worth over Rs 38 lac at Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru, Sep 30: Customs officials seized 752 grams of gold valued at Rs 38,20,160 from two male passengers at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Thursday September 29.

The customs officials intercepted two male passengers hailing from Bhatkal. They had arrived from Muscat and were trying to smuggle gold concealed in five oval shaped packets inside their bodies.

The gold was seized and separate offence cases have been registered. Further investigation is in progress.
