Udupi: 43 cases booked against students for in Manipal ganja consumption

Udupi, Oct 3: As many as 43 cases have been booked against students by Manipal police for consuming ganja. The drive was conducted from September 27 to October 1.

Nearly 150 students were made to take the test of which 75 samples were sent for forensic test for suspected ganja consumption and 43 positive reports were received from the lab.

Cases of ganja consumption have been booked on these 43 students under NDPS act.

All the students who have been caught are in the age group of 19 to 22 years old.

The special drive was conducted under the guidance of Akshay M Hackay, superintendent of police, Udupi district; Siddalingappa, ASP: Sudhakar Nayak, DySP: Manjunath, circle inspector, Manipal and Rajashekar vandalli, sub inspector.
