Goa State Cultural Awards Announced

Panaji, Apr 30: Directorate of Art & Culture every year honors eminent personalities in the field of Art & Culture by conferring the Goa State Cultural Award for their contribution, achievements in the various art forms like Music, Drama, Tiatr, Bhajan, Litrerature, Visual Art etc.

The Directorate of Art & Culture this year will be honoring 11 personalities in field of Art & Culture from Goa for their contribution and achievements.

Shri Ramesh Sukhtankar, Taleigao-Music, Shri Emaliano D’Cruz, Loutolim-Music, Shri Prakash D. Padgaonkar, Porvorim-Literature Smt. Vasanti Nadkarni, Panaji-Literature, Shri Mario Cabral de Sa, Divar-Literature, Shri Paresh Joshi, Vasco-Drama, Shri Vinaykumar Surlacar, Panaji- Drama, Shri Tito Preto alias Titta Preto, Aldona-Tiatr,  Shri Zilu Harmalkar, Bicholim-Visual Art, Shri Gopinath N. Valke, Ansabhat, Mapusa- Bhajan, Shri Kamlakar T. Valvaikar, Ponda-Bhajan.

These awards are for the year 2009-10 and comprise of a purse of Rs. 20,000/- Certificate, Shrifal, Nataraj Replica and a shawl respectively.

Government will also honor Society of Pilar by conferring the State Cultural Award for institution for outstanding performances in the field of Art and Culture with a memento and purse of Rs. 1.00 Lakh for the year 2010-11.

The awards will be presented at a special function organized by the Department at later date which will be informed accordingly.
