Nottingham: MUKA Elects Deepak Alvares as New President

Nottingham (UK), May 2: Mangalorean United Konkani Association (MUKA) elected Deepak Alvares as its president for the year 2011-2012, at the general body meeting which held at Bramcote Memorial Hall, Nottingham.

The annual general body meeting began with prayer followed by welcome address by the outgoing
president Jeevan Menezes. He expressed his joy on the completion of the successful tenure and applauded outgoing members of the executive committee for their dedicated hard-work.

The new committee, which was elected for the year 2011-2012, consists of following members.

President: Deepak Alvares
Vice-president: Anitha Sequeira
Secretary: Pius Rasquinha
Treasurer: Vincent D’Souza
Cultural Secretary: John Peter Fernandes
Communication Coordinator: Sunitha D’Souza
Liturgical Secretary: Nympha Alvares
Spiritual Animator: Fr Manoj D’Souza

Additional Committee Members: Prakash Mendonca, Jeevan Menezes, Stany Sequeira,
Natalie D’ Souza and Melrick Rasquinha.

Vincent D’Souza conducted the day’s proceedings. The newly elected president Deepak Alvares thanked Jeevan Menezes for leading the association successfully. He also requested the newly elected committee and the members for their cooperation. He assured them that he would strive hard to build unity and to continue the good work.
