Mangaluru, Oct 10: Toll Gate Virodhi Horata Samithi Surathkal and like-minded organisations held a protest rally demanding removal of the Surathkal toll plaza.

The protesters held a rally from the DC office to the clock tower to create awareness among the public and distributed pamphlets urging the public to lay siege to the plaza on October 18 at 9.30 am.

Addressing the protesters, Toll Gate Virodhi Horata Samithi Surathkal convener M G Hegde said, “this rally is to create an awareness among the public about laying siege to the toll plaza on October 18. More than Rs 260 crores has been collected as toll from the Surathkal toll plaza. Especially, MLAs Bharath Shetty and Vedavyasa Kamath should reveal why they are silent on this issue".

He also said that if MLAs do not act favourably, they will face the consequences from the electorate in the coming elections.

Leaders Sunil Kumar Bajal, Santhosh Bajal, Sushil Norohana, Mohammed Kunjathbail, K Yadav Shetty, Prakash Salian, BK Imthiyaz, Sumathi Hegde, and others were present.

Good move..The road around the Toll plaza itself is full of potholes.... Whers the Money going ??? Further the Traffic mess created at the Surathkal Junction should be sorted out at the earliest. The Traffic movement management at this place is atrocious to say the least.... The DELIBERATELY WRONGLY DESIGNED BRIDGE has messed up this area... The Highway Authority should make an UNDERPASS (one way,to acess the Service road near the Masjid ) just near the end of the service Bus stand on the Northern side to enable only Two and Four wheelers movement ... The chaos will end... The Shrill honking and Parking of Buses on the roadside should be strictly dealt with....
