Mangaluru, Oct 11: A lady and her family members were assaulted by a police constable and others for objecting to loud scooter horn near their residence.

The incident happened at Kolya Kaneer Thota. Vijayalaxmi, resident of Kolya Kaneer Thota, victim of the assault has been admitted to district government hospital for treatment.

It is alleged that local BJP leader Shekar was honking near the residence. Shekar, his friend, Pandeshwar police station head constable Nutan Kolya and others allegedly kicked the gate of the residence of Vijaylaxmi and illegally entered their house yard.

Tejpal, the husband of Vijayalaxmi and their children Hithesh and Harsha tried to prevent the commotion. Shekar reportedly hit Vijayalaxmi with a stone. Tejpal and children Hithesh and Harsha were treated and recovered.

Nutan Kolya, the police constable was transferred to Pandeshwar police station while under disciplinary action at Mangaluru CCB.

A case against five people including BJP leader Shekar, police constable Nutan and others is registered at Ullal police station.

    Police was Only transfered ?No action on him ?What right these leader had to enter forcefully in other compound ?And assault a woman ?No respect for a woman ?Honk ing in residency area is no go .Action is to be taken on these politician and Police.
