Bantwal, Oct 13: There was an accident at the spot where work on the BC Road-Hassan flyover of the four-lane highway at Kalladka. Fortunately, no casualties or deaths were reported.
The pillar work for the flyover is in progress. The mishap occurred at the spot where iron rods were being installed for pillars. The iron rods bent completely and fell on to the road. As no vehicles were passing on the road, there were no casualties.
Flyover work has been progressing at a slow pace due to rains during the last few months. Vehicle users and people are already facing issues. People have alleged that the work is unscientific. The current incident has made the local people suspect its quality.
