Two separate complaint filed against ‘Durga Daud’ programme held in Udupi

Udupi, Oct 14: Two separate cases have been filed against the speakers and organizers of the Durga Daud programme organized by Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) happened on October 2.

The programme had a a rally from Kadiyali temple to the programme venue near to Sri Krishna Math and thousands of HJV workers had participated in the rally.

As per the first complaint filed by Hussain, a businessman of Udupi, the complainant has stated that nearly 10-15 members had participated in Durga Daud procession and had attempted to create fear among the public by displaying the swords. A case in this regard has been filed in Udupi town police station.

In another complaint filed by Hussain, the complainant has accused HJV leader Srikanth Shetty Karkala and Kajal Hindustani of inciting hate against Muslim community through thier speeches. “Hindus should keep weapons in their houses and adore them. Muslims are cheating girls in the name of love jihad. Bollywood is also promoting love jihad,” with these jibes, the speakers have tried to create enmity among religions, the complainant accused.

Two separate complaints have been registered in Udupi town police station.
