India ranked 107 out of 121 countries in Global Hunger Index

New Delhi, Oct 15 (IANS): In the 2022 Global Hunger Index, India ranks 107th out of the 121 countries with sufficient data to calculate 2022 GHI scores.

With a score of 29.1, India has a level of hunger that is serious.

At 19.3 per cent, according to the latest data, India has the highest child wasting rate of all countries covered in the GHI.

This rate is higher than it was in 1998–1999, when it was 17.1 per cent.

Nepal is ranked higher at 81, Bangladesh at 84 and even Pakistan at 99.

India is ranked below African countries like Sudan, Congo, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Rwanda.

Since 2000, India has made substantial progress, but there are still areas of concern, particularly regarding child nutrition.

India's GHI score has decreased from a 2000 GHI score of 38.8 points, considered alarming, to a 2022 GHI score of 29.1, considered serious.

India's proportion of undernourished in the population is considered to be at a medium level, and its under-five child mortality rate is considered low.

While child stunting has seen a significant decrease -- from 54.2 per cent in 1998–1999 to 35.5 per cent in 2019–2021 -- it is still considered very high.

Forget Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal etc we are below poorest countries of world world like African countries. Smriti Irani says it’s fabricated news. So her govt is so poor that it could not spare 40% commission to deviate from factual news but even poorest African countries could manipulate the data. Desperate BJP govt doesn’t know where to cover and how to expose.

Comparing India to other countries even it has even richest people are there .Our powerty is more self made by rich ones.It can be better if only our rich ones want. They make people work for them but dont pay accordingly or take out of them Dont pay properly or when one illiterate is there only make sign without telling truth or low payment. How many people are longing prepayment but repay back with high interest. How much property of some poeple has gone so this way to land lords? In other countries floods or no rain make the lossof food stuffs etc.It can be uplifted in our countries.

Now I understand why IMF Chief said 'India is bright spot on the Dark Horizon'. OR should we call it Amrut Kaal? Thank You Andh Bhakts and their Baaja Masters. You have done so much of damage in last 8 years to hang our heads in shame. Abb danka nahi bajaoge ki Modiji yeh hain...Modiji woh hain? Even countries like Sudan and Rwanda are better in Global Hunger Index than us. Aur kya dekhna baaki reh gaya hai? Doob maro sharam se dhokebaazon.

Shocking. now Bhakth willl blame west for this report. Reality is front of us. Option are stop playing conversion cards with Christian who was helping many poor hungry families. May be due to various laws and harrassment they are not doing same level of services like before and many Christians donors not send funds. For charity work. I find it sad for poor families who has to suffer for food

What's the benefit to the common CITIZENS of the country while boasting about being the world's third largest economy and going towards a 5 trillion$ economy etc etc? The common man deserves an explanation from those at the helm of affairs on this pitiable ranking!

Leave the top 10% of the population, today the rest of India lives in miserable condition due to inflation and unemployment. Recently, Spain's daily "La Vanguardia" used Snake Charmer's picture to show Indian economy. Facts are facts, to be honest,we have to accept it.
