Bantwal, Oct 20: State government has handed over the case of miscreants waylaying the car of MLA Harish Poonja and threatening him with life to the CID. The CID team arrived from Bengaluru to the town on Wednesday October 19 and began the investigation.
Bantwal Rural PSI Harish had been to Bengaluru on October 18 under the guidance of SP of Dakshina Kannada Hrishikesh Sonawane and as per the instructions of state government. He submitted extensive report on the case to the CID personnel.
CID team led by inspector Shivraj arrived to Bantwal on Wednesday and checked files related to the case at Bantwal rural police station. The team consists of an inspector, a PSI and two personnel.
Police sources said that the team will carry out investigation in various angles in Bantwal and Mangaluru in coming days.
