Mangaluru, Oct 28: An online fraud has come to light involving an e-commerce transaction.Chinmaya Ramana had ordered for a gaming laptop on a popular e-commerce site for a friend. As a gaming laptop boasts of higher RAM capacity and processor speed the prices are higher than a conventional laptop.

Chinmaya made an online payment to buy the gaming laptop for his friend and waited for it to be delivered.

A few days after he had ordered the laptop, Chinmaya received a box from the company. On opening the box Chinmaya was shocked to find only stones and junk stuff in it. He immediately called up the customer care of the e-commerce site and reported the fraudulent box that he had received.

Realising the mistake, the e-commerce company reimbursed the entire amount that Chinmaya had paid to buy the laptop. Although Chinmaya got a refund, the need for a laptop could not be met by the e-commerce site. He tweeted the occurrence of the transaction.

That is a very big and heavy stone. I don't think a person who would cheat someone would put in s such a heavy stone and increase the courier costs. This is a case of cheating by the customer. Customers make such fake videos and photos and blackmail e-commerce sites for a refund. This is why flupkart introduced a open package policy. You open the package in front of the delivery boy and then only give otp after the product is correct and also working
