Udupi: Samskriti Habba celebration held at St Mary's School

Udupi, Nov 4: 'Samskriti Habba' -a cultural fest celebrating Kannada literature, art and music was held on November 1 on the occasion of 67th Kannada Rajyotsava at St Mary's Eng Med School, Udupi. Poornima Suresh, the renowned writer, and actor from Udupi was the chief guest. The programme was inaugurated by unfurling the auspicious Areca flower. The chief guest and the dignitaries offered floral honor to the portrait of Kannada Mathe Bhuvaneshwari.

'Maunadolagana Maathu' -the collection of Kannada poems written by Amrutha, the Kannada teacher of the school was released on this occasion. Amrutha in her speech expressed her gratitude to the support and encouragement extended by St Mary's family. Vinay gave a brief introduction of the released book.

Amrutha was felicitated by the dignitaries on this occasion for her outstanding literary achievement. Chief guest Poornima Suresh expressed her thoughts on the greatness of Kannada culture and literature. Correspondent Fr Charles Menezes congratulated Amrutha for her passion towards Kannada literature and music. Many Kannada group songs, dance and instrumental music were presented by students. Principal Fr Johnson Sequeira, vice principal Rita Quadros, head boy Nideesh, head girl Samantha were present for the programme. Varsha and Kaushiki anchored the programme. Adithi extended the words of gratitude.
