Udupi, Nov 8: Lunar eclipse was visible at several places here on Tuesday, November 8. Astrophiles enjoyed the sight from 6.25 pm in an improved telescope prepared by N Manohar, an employee of MIT College, Parkala, Udupi. It was visible at Kunjarugiri hill of Udupi also.

A team of hobbyist astronomers from Poornaprajna college had made arrangements for public viewing of the eclipse at Kunjarugiri. As there were clouds, the eclipse was visible only for a short while when it was coming to an end.

Meanwhile, Mahapooja was held at Udupi Krishna math before the lunar eclipse began. Prayers were recited inside the lake by the priests during the eclipse. The usual car festival was held after the eclipse. The priests of the math took a holy dip in the water when it got over.
