Mumbai, Nov 9: A cultural programme held at Arnaswarna Banquet, Dattani mall on Tuesday evening, was inaugurated by Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld organizations on Tuesday evening.
Guests of honour Manikanta Seva Samithi Vasai honorary president Shanker K Alva, Karnataka Sangha Vasai president Pandu L Shetty, Meera Dahanu Bunts president Ashok K Shetty, Jeevadhani Yaksha Kala Vedike Vasai president Manjunath Rai Kodladi, Kateeleshwari Yaksha Kala Vedike Vasai president Devendra Bunnan, Billavara Association Mumbai Vasai local committee president Karunaker Ameen, Bharath Bank former director K P Poojary and Hotelier Raja Shetty were on the dais.
“Considering Tulu as our mother tongue and providing entertainment in it is our intention,” said Kapikad.
“The presence of the heads of various organizations and their members in the vicinity shows our unity. I always wish for such unity of Tulu Kannadigas in the future also,” said Shanker K Alva.
Artists Lion Dr Devadas Kapikad, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Sujatha Shakthinagar, Sadashiva Ameen, Arvind Bolar, Dhrithi Sai, film actor Sushanth Poojary, veteran hotelier Gopal Shetty, art organizers Prakash M Shetty Surathkal and Dayananda Poojary, Sheela Dayanand, Nagaraj Shetty and others were felicitated on the occasion.
The programme began after offering prayers to Kateel Durgaparameshwari Manjunatheshari swamy. Nagaraj Shetty welcomed, compered the programme and introduced the guests. Usha Sridhar Shetty, Pramila Ameen, Nalini Poojary, Yashodha Bangera and Yashodha N Shetty honoured the guests. Dayananda Y Poojary rendered a vote of thanks.
Cha Parka artists Mangaluru team performed a comedy play titled Nayida Beela written and directed by Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee Lion Dr Devadas Kapikad.
