Udupi: Man tries to manhandle social worker, smashes windshield of ambulance

Udupi, Nov 10: A man, who was creating ruckus in the vicinity of the Car Street near Sri Krishna Math here was admitted to the district hospital by social worker Nithyananda Olakadu.

When Nithyananda tried to get hold of the man who was behaving peculiarly, he tried to assault the former. Police rescued Nithyananda. Later, when the man was made to enter the ambulance, he broke its windshield as he got furious.

On the basis of the Aadhaar card that was available with the man, he is identified as Cariyappa M L (41), son of Leelappa Basavanahalli, Somwarpet.

Any relative or known person to this man is being requested to contact the citizen helpline of the Udupi district hospital.

    Either he was high with drugs?or he is mentally sick.Mentally sick people have enormous energy ,than normal one.The brake steal or metal rodes lke a karakaddy.we have to be careful with such people and handle them accordingly ,not with violence .Hope he goes home and be healthy.Since Police have his address why cant they self cal home people and tell them to take home?
