Mangaluru: Fish net godown catches fire causing loss in lacs

Mangaluru, Nov 14: Fishing nets worth lac of rupees got gutted as fire erupted in the godown where they were kept in stock at the boat anchorage area in fishing port at Bunder on Saturday night.

Pandeshwar fire service personnel who rushed to the spot doused the fire. The incident occurred around midnight. Fire service officers said that only investigation will reveal the cause of fire.

On October 28, three cargo boats were gutted at the fishing port. Now this fire accident is the second one in less than two weeks. This has caused concern among the fishermen.
