Bengaluru, Nov 14: The Pancharatna Rath Yatra of JD(S) will be resumed from November 18 or 20 from Mulbagal in Kolar district, JD(S) floor leader in the Assembly H D Kumaraswamy announced in Bengaluru on Monday.
Speaking to media persons at the party office, he said the Pancharatna Rath Yatra had to be suspended due to rains and the date for resumption will be announced in 2 or 3 days.
“We had to temporarily suspend the Yatra due to rains and as per the original schedule, it should have commenced from today. But with rains continuing and the weather forecasts suggesting that the rains may continue for another week,, we had to extend the date resumption once again,’’ he said.
The former Chief Minister said after the resumption of the Yata either on November 18 or 20, it will be continued till December 29. The next leg of the Yatra covering Kalyana Karnataka, will commence from January 3.
The JD(S) leader said the party will cover more than 120 assembly constituencies and complete the entire State by March.
Later, he warmly welcomed several Congress and BJP leaders joining JD(S) at a party convention in Tumkuru. State JD(S) President C M Ibrahim and other leaders were also present.
