Udupi: 35-year-old fisherman accidentally falls into sea, dies

Udupi, Nov 14: A fisherman died as he accidentally slipped and fell into the sea at Malpe fishing port.

The deceased is identified as Santhosh Tingalaya (35), a resident of Katapadi. He was working in Jai Balram boat and fell into water as he was boarding the boat.

As the water in Malpe port is filled with silt, Santhosh got stuck in it and was trying hard to come out of it. Though locals brought him up from the water and took him to the hospital, he died on the way.

A case is registered in Malpe police station.

    If i am not mistaken, there have been numerous requests to remove the silt. But the government has conveniently ignored them. Lives of common men are cheap for our elected representatives. Really sad

    Sad. Floating bridge is very much necessary here. Where is Raghupathi Bhattr? Hijab issue he was jumping around uncontrolled. Now so many people have died in the port and he is underground?
