Mangaluru, Nov 16: Airhostess from the city, helped a doctor in saving the life of a passenger on flight that was arriving to Bengaluru from London.

Dr Vishwaraj Vemala, a native of Bengaluru, who works in London, has written about the incident on his Facebook page.

On his Facebook page, Dr Vemala wrote, “On November 12, a situation of panic was created on the flight from London to Bengaluru as a 43-year-old person suffered a heart attack. As I was thinking what to do, the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) came to the rescue. At the same time air hostesses Girita of Mangaluru and Mallisha helped in using the instrument on the person suffering from heart attack.

“The flight made an emergency landing in Mumbai and the person was handed over to emergency unit. The condition of the person was stable and he recovered later in the hospital,” stated the doctor in his post.

Humane job! It's good that they have an AED ready inflight for an emergency! BTW, the other day one passenger from Dubai collapsed in the Mangalore AP and died perhaps for want of an AED or trained doctor though it is said to be an international AP!
