Jeddah: Karnataka NRI Forum organizes Cricket Tournament - SEASON 3’

Jeddah, Nov 16: As part of celebrations for 75th glorious years of India’s independence, under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah in association with Tulunadu Cricket Association (TCA), organized Karnataka Noble Trophy (KNT) Cricket Tournament - SEASON 3’ in the red sea city of Jeddah.

Young Stars CC Jeddah lifted the Karnataka Noble Trophy (KNT) Season 3 by beating MCC Jeddah with 7 wickets and 9 balls to spare in the finals held on October 22 at JTPL ground Jeddah. After winning the toss Young Star CC Jeddah has chosen to field first, where MCC Jeddah had scored 34 for 5 in  their allotted 5 overs.

Nine teams from Jeddah took part in the tournament have played two league matches each under three pools and the top four teams were qualified to the semi-finals. MCC shattered Classic Friends Puttur by 29 runs in the first semi-final and Young Star CC Jeddah got the better of Asas Cricket Club Jeddah by 14  runs. Mr.Badar from MCC and Sufiyan from Young Stars CC were declared as Man of the Matches in the first and second semi-finals respectively. While best batsmen of the tournament was awarded to Akbar Poli of Young Stars CC and Ijaz Butt secured the Best Bowler of the tournament for outstanding performances. Badruddin of the MCC was affirmed as Man of the Series for his  all-round performance throughout the tournament.















Before the toss for the final match, playing 11 of both teams, match officials and organizing committee members were welcomed with glittering colourful event at the ground where the National Anthem of Saudi Arabia and India were played with highest level of respect from all the audience.
 
Chief guest of the Grand Finale Mohammed Hashim, Consul Haj, consulate general of India congratulated both winner and runner-up teams for their outstanding performance of cricket skills. He highlighted the importance of sports and games in life and relived his memories as cricket player during his college days representing Aligarh Muslim University. He also  felicitated the winner and runner up players with medals and presented trophies in a dazzling ceremony. The official scorers, umpires, and  commentators were also felicitated by generous award certificates. A memento and certificate was presented to the Tulunadu Cricket Association  (TCA) for their great support in organising the tournament.
 
Among the guests who attended the event were Saudi Entrepreneur Sulaimain Mubaraki, Shaikh Mohammed Ansar, president of Jammiyatul Falah Jeddah Unit, and sponsor Irshad from BAT. The tournament was eye catching spectacle for large number of cricket loving enthusiasts.

Earlier on Monday, October 17, the chief guest Mohammed Hashim unveiled the trophy and jersey in a colourful trophy unveiling ceremony in the presence of various sponsors, organizing committee members from KNRI Forum  and TCA, the team owners, captains of various teams which was followed by draw of fixtures for the league matches.

Mohammed Mansoor president of KNRI Forum Jeddah delivered the welcome address and presented video clip with great wishes from Dr Arthi Krishna, former chairperson NRI Forum, Government of Karnataka.
