Chennai, Nov 7: The makers of director A R K Saravan's much-awaited fantasy comedy adventure 'Maragadha Naanayam 2', starring Aadhi, Nikki Galrani and Priya Bhavani Shankar in lead roles, unveiled the film's first-look poster on Saturday, much to the excitement of fans of the franchise.
Sharing the poster, production house Passion Studios described the film as a tale of chase, heist, mystery and fantasy, all driven by an obsession with the Maragadha Naanayam.
"Chase. Heist. Mystery. Fantasy. People. All driven by one obsession - The Maragadha Naanayam. Presenting the first look of #MaragadhaNaanayam2 | #MaragadhaMani2," the production house posted on social media, while confirming that the film has been written and directed by A R K Saravan. The post also featured the names of lead actors Aadhi, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Nikki Galrani, along with Sathyaraj.
Earlier, in May this year, actor Daniel Annie Pope, who plays a pivotal role in the film, announced that shooting had been completed.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a heartfelt note appreciating the film's team and describing the experience as a memorable family reunion filled with fun, bonding, late-night shoots and unforgettable moments.
He recalled the laughter between takes, long shooting schedules, selfies and playful moments shared with co-stars Aadhi, Nikki Galrani and Priya Bhavani Shankar.
Describing the experience as more than just a film, Daniel said every member of the team had made the journey special. He also expressed excitement about audiences witnessing the magic created by the entire unit.
The film went on floors with a grand pooja ceremony in Chennai in February this year.
The original 'Maragadha Naanayam', released in 2017, emerged as a blockbuster fantasy comedy entertainer, prompting the makers to announce a sequel. Earlier this year, Passion Studios had also released a visual glimpse of the second instalment.
Producer Sudhan Sundaram of Passion Studios had expressed his enthusiasm about backing the sequel, describing the project as close to his heart and stating that he was a huge fan of the original film.
He had said that the sequel was being mounted on a grander scale with an expanded star cast and was intended to bring audiences to theatres with its magical entertainment. Aadhi and Priya Bhavani Shankar would reprise their lead roles, he had confirmed.
'Maragadha Naanayam 2' is directed by A R K Saravan and produced by Sudhan Sundaram, Manish Singhal, Durgaram Choudhary, Dev and K V Durai under the banners of Passion Studios, Dangal TV, RDC Media, Axess Film Factory and Good Show.
Apart from Aadhi and Priya Bhavani Shankar, the film features Sathyaraj, Nikki Galrani Pinisetty, Munishkanth, Anandaraj, Daniel Annie Pope, Arunraja Kamaraj and Muruganandam in pivotal roles.
Dhibu Ninan Thomas has composed the music, while P V Shankar handles cinematography. N K Rahul is the art director and Thirumalai Rajan R is the editor. The film's dialogues have been penned by Rajesh Kannan, while PC Stunts has choreographed the action sequences.
