Mangaluru, Nov 16: The Bhu Malikara Horata Samithi NH 169 demanded to provide compensation to land owners at the earliest.

Addressing media here on Wednesday November 16, president of Bhu Malikara Horata Samithi NH 169, Mariamma Thomas said, “The land acquisition began in the year 2016. But unfortunately, there is no progress over providing compensation to the land owners. The statement that 90% land is acquired is false. In reality, only 28% of the private land has been acquired.

“It is unfortunate that without land acquisition or giving compensation to the land owners, tender has been given to a company for work. What was the urgency of giving tender without proper land acquisition?

“We demand that compensation to the land owners should be paid at the earliest and then the road work should be commenced,” she said.

The samithi member Brijesh, Rathnakar and others were present.
