Mangaluru, Nov 17: Former minister B Ramanath Rai alleged that the BJP government is misusing the administration system as the assembly election is fast approaching in the state.

He was addressing media at Congress Bhavan here on Thursday November 17.

He said, “When Narendra Modi arrived to the district, the PDOs and beneficiaries were asked to attend the event. Anganwadi workers who are booth level officers are being pressurized.

“As the election is approaching, BLOs are being felicitated in Bantwal constituency in the pretext of being corona warriors. The BJP leaders are trying to influence BLOs.

“The BJP government is organising Kannada Shala Makkala Habba under aegis of Keshava Smrithi Samvardhana Samithi. The DDPI has sent circular to Kannada schools in this regard. This is the misuse of power. A memorandum will been submitted to the deputy commissioner and CEO of zilla panchayat in this regard,” he said.

Rai also alleged that community Arogyamitra workers have been asked to work in private hospitals, citing dearth of patients in PHCs.

Congress leaders Shashidar Hegde, Shalet Pinto, Ibrahim Kodijal Baby Kundar, Prakash Shetty Tumbe, Padmashekar Jain and others were present.
